Rev. Dr. Chris Price

Chris recently retired from St. Luke's Presbyterian Church in Dunwoody, GA where he served as Senior Pastor and Head of Staff for 17 years.  Prior to St Luke's, Chris served for 9 years as Solo Pastor at Madison Presbyterian Church in Madison, GA.  Chris is a native Atlantan.  He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and began a career in the banking industry in 1974.  Accepting God's call into ministry, Chris attended Columbia Theological Seminary and received a Master of Divinity degree in 1979.  Additionally, Chris received his Ph. D. from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland in 1987 and a Master of Theology degree in 1998 from Columbia.

Chris has 3 daughters: Kate (30), Jennifer (28), and Lauren (27).  His hobbies include fishing, golfing and reading. He is an aspiring author and is currently writing a book about the faith of Abraham Lincoln.  Chris hopes to have the book, “Instrument of God,” published in the near future.


Rev. Neal Kuhlhorst

Our Pastoral Counselor is the Rev. Neal Kuhlhorst, a licensed marriage and family therapist.  Neal is a graduate of Louisville Theological Seminary (M.Div.) and is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).  He has served as a pastor of churches in Kentucky and Georgia.  He has achieved ABD status in pursuit of the Th.D. in pastoral counseling at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia.  He is a member of the Georgia Association of Pastoral Counselors.  He has also worked with Peachtree Hospice and supervised Clinical Pastoral Education students.  He is married and the father of three children.

Neal also provides pastoral counseling for all those desiring to be married at the church, using the Prepare/Enrich resources.  He also regularly participates in the adult educational ministry of the church, leading seminars on the Spiritual Nurture of Children, Living with Your Teenager and Maybe Liking It, and Dealing with Grief and Loss.  He also serves as a resource to our Care Givers Ministry Team and to the pastors of the church.
 


Katie Newman

Katie graduated from Hendrix College, Conway, Arkansas in 2002 with a BA in Psychology.  She also studied at Oxford University, England from 1999-2000 in British Literature and Clinical Psychology.  Katie also has a certification for Christian Education from Perkins School of Theology (SMU) in Dallas, Texas. She has received her Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Georgia.

While at Pulaski Heights UMC as the Director of Youth Ministries, she helped lead a $9.9 million capital campaign, including building an extension for the youth program area, and extended her youth staff from one youth director to a team of four. 

Katie has volunteered in the teen room and playroom for patients of the Arkansas Children's Hospital.  She has also led activities for HAVEN, a temporary place of residence for abused teens in emergency need.  She recently volunteered at the Burn Camp here in the Atlanta area.  She has led mission teams to Zimbabwe, Haiti, Peru, and Mexico.

Katie plays guitar, sings, and has started youth praise and worship bands.  She is married to Steven Newman, and she enjoys live music, snow skiing, traveling, running, being outdoors, and her dogs.


Alicia Ward

Our Director of Worship & Music, Alicia Ward, has served as a church musician for over 35 years.  She has previously served churches in Monroe, Louisiana; Auburn, Alabama; Federal Way, Washington; Watertown, New York; and Fayetteville, North Carolina.  Since moving to Atlanta in 1995, Alicia has served as a staff singer at Haygood United Methodist Church and Covenant Presbyterian Church, and served as full-time Director of Music at Norcross Presbyterian Church from 1999 to 2003.

Alicia lives in Norcross and is the mother of four children: Steven (23), Alex (19), Anna (12), and Matthew (9).

Alicia is a member of Presbyterian Association of Musicians, American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, YouthCUE, and Choristers Guild.
 

Donna Bailey

Donna Bailey, our organist, holds a Master of Music degree in organ and a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano and Music Education.  Mrs. Bailey began accompanying church choirs as a young child and has held many church positions.

In most recent years, Donna has served churches in the Atlanta area.  At First Baptist Lithia Springs, she served as organist, and also as Assistant organist at First Baptist Atlanta.  She also served as pianist at First Baptist Douglasville.

Donna resides in Dawsonville, Georgia with her husband, Ronnie, and her mother, Doris Bardwell.  She teaches private piano.  Mrs. Bailey has also taught music in schools in Georgia for over thirty years.  She is presently the conductor of the newly formed North Georgia Youth Chorale.
 

Jackie Hull

Jackie Hull studied music education at Bowling Green State University and is a graduate of The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio with a degree in Textiles and Clothing.  She worked for a large architectural and planning firm in California before moving to Atlanta in 2002.

Jackie has been active as a musician for over 25 years.  Currently, she performs with the Atlanta Flute Ensemble and is a member of The Atlanta Flute Club.

Jackie lives in Suwanee with her husband, Peter, and her two children, Jeremy and Melissa.

Our Contribution Coordinator, Nancy Hyde, is a graduate of Lon Morris College, Jacksonville, Texas, with a degree in Art.  She has over twenty-five years experience in the accounting field.  She is married, has two children, and is an ordained elder in the PC(USA).

Our Financial Manager, Mary Beth Simpson, is a graduate of The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a major in Finance.  She has over ten years experience in business banking, serving as an account manager and credit analyst.  She has also served as the treasurer for two organizations.  She is married and has two children.

Our Church Secretary, Debbie Benson, is native to this area- third generation from Roswell, and her husband, Sam, is fourth generation from Alpharetta. Debbie has worked in office environments for over 30 years. Before coming to COH, she owned her own business, specializing in the restoration/renovation of older/historic homes. After an injury prevented her from returning to that type of work, she returned to office work, and feels very blessed to have found COH.  She has been married to Sam for over 30 years and they have one son, Matthew, 26. Her hobbies include cooking, crafts, gardening, restoring/refinishing antiques, and raising goats at their home in Crabapple.

Lisa Lucas

Lisa Lucas holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University.  She taught pre-K for eight years before coming to COH as the Assistant Preschool Director.  She is also a previous COH session member and has participated in five COH mission trips.   Lisa is married to Barry, and they have three children, Clay, Ben and Eliza.
